Confocal microscopy in cell biology faces challenges like phototoxicity and photobleaching, especially when using high-power lasers. The latter can damage cells and restrict prolonged imaging. In addition, high-resolution imaging often requires slow acquisition, making it unsuitable for capturing fast cellular dynamics. Data processing can also be resource-intensive.
