The Confocal NL REscan Confocal Microscopes (RCM) are devices that can be used to convert a widefield microscope into a confocal point- or line-rescanning microscope. Inside the RCM box there are two sets of galvo mirrors that deflect the laser beam. The RCM requires an external laser combiner and a camera to work.
The principle behind the RCM is that the image that is scanned in the sample is rescanned onto a camera, in comparison to a normal point scanner confocal microscope that uses a PMT to capture information at the pinhole.
We have developed SDKs and guides for users and developers who want to integrate our confocal systems into their own software on Windows. The Confocal NL APIs is a dynamic C++ library (dll) of which the functions and parameters can be easily found. Apart from the dll, the .lib file and the .h file, some other software with which the RCM functions must be installed and included in the environment.
